ECP recommends investigation into RTS failure during 2018 elections

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has proposed a tentative schedule for by-elections, local media reported on Friday.
According to reports, the schedule which will be released today will have the proposed dates of October 8 to 10 for the by-elections.
By-elections will take place on 30 seats, 11 National Assembly (NA) and and 19 provincial assembly seats, sources added.
Moreover, the reports stated, the election commission secretariat has forwarded the summary to the chief election commissioner of the ECP for approval with the final schedule being released with the approved date for the by-elections.
By-elections will take place on NA-35, NA-53, NA-60, NA-63, NA-65, NA-69, NA-103, NA-124, NA-131 and NA-243.
On Thursday, the ECP had announced the presidential elections will take place on September 4.
Voting for the presidential election will be held in the NA and the four provincial assemblies from 10am to 4pm on September 4.
