LAHORE: Former Punjab CM and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday has expressed reservations on the actions of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against his party leaders.
He said that the arrests of party leaders have raised question marks on the transparency of the forthcoming general elections adding that NAB should end the impression of targeting his party.
The ex-Punjab CM also demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to immediately take notice of the situation and said that the anti-graft body’s revenge activities is an attempt to harm party’s electoral campaign.
He added that they had approached the ECP against NAB’s revenge activities under article 218(3) of the constitution.
Shehbaz Sharif added that it was the responsibility of the Commission to provide political parties equal opportunities of free election campaign.
