KARACHI: Fazlur Rehman has taken oath as caretaker Sindh Chief Minister in Karachi.
Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair administered the oath to the interim chief minister at a ceremony attended by bureaucrats, politicians, Chief Secretary, Police IG, Director General of Sindh Rangers and members of business community.
Former Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah was also present at the ceremony which took place at the Governor’s House.
Fazlur Rehman also served as Auditor General.
On the other hand, deadlock persists in naming Balochistan’s caretaker chief minister while the matter of naming interim CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been referred to the parliamentary committee which is scheduled to hold its first meeting today.
Meanwhile, the mystery of caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab is likely to be resolved after the Punjab government hinted at consensus on two names proposed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), former Inspector General Police (KPK) and current member of Punjab Public Service commission (PPSC) – Nasir Durani and Uaqoob Tahir Izhar, a businessman.
