Federal minister assures Sindh early solution to gas crisis

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan Friday assured the Sindh government to resolve the gas crisis in the province.
Talking to newsmen, advisor to chief minister for information, Murtaza Wahab said that the federal minister held a meeting with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and other officials of the provincial government.
He said that the chief minister briefed the federal minister about ongoing crisis in the province and Sindh’s constitutional right over gas being produced in the province. He said that the chief minister informed the federal minister about low pressure of gas in the province.
He said that the minister assured the Sindh government that the issue would be resolved soon. He said that the federal minister was going for a meeting at SSGC and hoped that the issue would be resolved within few hours.
He said that the provincial government would wait for the federal government’s decision.They would protest if the gas supply was not restored, he said. He said that the provincial government would not compromise on the rights of the people of Sindh.
