FIA summons Zardari, Talpur in siphoning off money case

ISLAMABAD: Former president and Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur failed to appear before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a case pertaining to money laundering.
A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of FIA had summoned Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur today to record their statements in the siphoning off money scandal.
Zardari and Talpur’s lawyer Farooq H Naik appeared before the FIA officials and informed them that his clients could not turn up because of submitting election campaign expenses given that the deadline expires today.
Meanwhile, Faryal Talpur has raised objections over the head of JIT and requested the FIA to form a new team.
In her requested submitted to FIA by Farooq H Naik, Talpur added that she wanted to fully cooperate in the case.
