FIA unearths Rs2b in street vendor’s account

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has unearthed billion of rupees in a bank account of a street vendor on Saturday, who expressed ignorance about the transactions in his account.
The FIA through a letter informed the street vendor, Abdul Qadir, about presence of Rs2 billion his bank account. However, Abdul Qadir expressed ignorance about amount in his bank account and said that he never signed any cheque in English as he could hardly sign in Urdu. He said that he did not know about his bank account.
The FIA has started investigation, while police has been deployed at his house.
Qadir told media that he was living in a small house and did not know how such a big amount was transferred in his account.
