LHAORE— The federal government’s decision to announce a hike in in the petroleum products has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday.
The petition, filed by Advocate Azhar Siddique, stating that the government increased prices of petroleum products without approval of federal cabinet.
The advocate pleaded with the high court to declare the hike void.
It is pertinent to mention here that the federal government last night had increased the prices of petrol, high-speed diesel, kerosene and light diesel oil.
With an increase of Rs12.85, petrol will now be available for Rs248.74 and high-speed diesel’s at Rs276.54, after a hike of Rs13.23.
