Gas crisis in Sindh as supply to CNG stations, power companies stopped

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Tuesday to stop gas supply to CNG stations and power producing companies in Sindh for indefinite period, inviting the ire of the CNG associations.
The CNG associations also announced to protest against the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC)’s decision to halt gas supply to CNG stations across Sindh.
Abdul Sami Khan a member of the CNG association, said that they would stage protest demonstrations outside the SSGC office on Wednesday. He demanded of the SSGC to restore gas supply to CNG stations.
The associations further threatened to block the city’s main artery Shahrah-e-Faisal if supply was not resumed.
The SSGC spokesperson in a statement said supply to CNG stations will be discontinued for an indefinite period of time. He said that gas supply would only be restored after improvement in gas pressure.
