Govt conducts survey to launch cellular phone services in FATA

PESHAWAR: Federal Government has decided to conduct survey for launching cellular phone services in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
This was told at a meeting of the Sub-Committee of the Senate Committee on information technology in Peshawar on Friday.
The meeting was informed that a survey will be carried in all seven tribal agencies including Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, North and South Waziristan in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the committee Senator Taj Afridi said focus of the government is on development of tribal areas to bring them at par with developed parts of the country.
