ISLAMABAD: Planning Minister Asad Omar says the government wants to expedite the development projects of the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said sufficient funds have been allocated in the Public Sector Development Programme 2020-21 for the development of the merged districts enabling youth of the area to play an effective role in the development of the country.
Asad Umar also emphasized on the feasibility study of Chashma Right Bank Canal to be expedited. He said this long awaited project is very important for the agriculture of the province. He said in view of current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, self-sufficiency in food and food security is also the top priority of the federal government and it is time to implement this project at the earliest.
The meeting discussed the progress on mega development projects in the province and especially speedy completion of development projects in the merged districts.
