Hafeez Sheikh likely to be appointed as Finance Minister

ISLAMABAD: Following the quitting of finance minister Asad Umar, the appointment of the new minister being guessed by the political analysts.
The former finance minister Hafeez Sheikh being considered as replacement of Asad Umar and his formal announcement will be made soon.
Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh is a political economist of international repute with over 30 years of experience in economic policy-making, management and implementation. He served as the 20th Finance Minister of Pakistan from 2010 to 2013.
Sources disclosed that portfolios of five federal ministers are being replaced as Aijaz Shah will take over the charge of interior minister, Umar Ayub to retain the portfolio of Energy minister, Fardos Ashiq Awan to be appointed as special assistance for information, Fawad Chaudhry will lost his post and will be appointed as minister for science and technology and interior minister Sheharyar Afridi will be appointed as Minister of State and Frontier Regions (SAFRON).
