ISLAMABAD: The accountability court on Thursday resumed hearing of Avenfield properties reference against Sharif family after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz appeared in the court.
Nawaz’s son-in-law Capt. Retd Safdar also appeared in court with regards to hearing of the reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
During today’s hearing, the court granted exemption to Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz from appearance in today’s hearing after marking their attendance as the two requested the court to be allowed to leave.
The court then adjourned hearing the case until the appearance of former Panama case joint investigation team (JIT) head Wajid Zia to record his statement.
Maryam’s counsel Amjaz Pervez requested the court not to make the entire JIT report part of the court record.
The judge partially approved the plea.
The hearing is still under way with Wajid Zia recording his statement in the case.
