Human rights situation in Afghanistan alarming: Richard Bennett

The United Nations Special Rapporteur Richard Bennett has said that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is alarming, calling for immediate action to end human rights and human crisis in Afghanistan.

Richard Bennett will present his recommendations and final report on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan to the United Nations General Assembly on October 26.

After completing a 12-day visit to Afghanistan, Richard Bennett, said in a statement that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan is still very bad.

According to the statement, majority of the Afghans reportedly voiced concern over government maltreatment of women and terrorist attacks on places of worship and educational facilities, during talks with them.

During his visit to Afghanistan, Richard Bennett met with Afghan government officials and visited Panjshir and Bamiyan provinces.

Richard Bennett will present his final report on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan to the United Nations General Assembly on October 26.
