IGP inaugurates bomb-proof check posts in KP

PESHAWAR: Inspector general Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Salahuddin Mehsud has inaugurated bomb-proof check posts in the province.
The IGP said that multiple bomb-proof check posts have been constructed in the province. He said that Rs 800 million have been spent on these check posts.
He said that 31 check posts have been set up along the borderline of FATA to prevent terrorists and foreign entities to enter through this route.
He stated that they will recruit minimum 800 new officers. The old stations will be renovated and rebuilt, he said, adding that a watchtower would be installed at Peshawar Airport soon which will further improve Airport security.
A number of 8000 cameras will be set around the Peshawar city and the government will soon allot motorcycles for the special command unit, he said.
These checkpoints will be converted into fully functional Police stations after the merger of Fata in KPK.
