IHC delays verdict on pleas for sentences suspension in Avenfield properties case

Court reserves verdict on Nawaz’s plea seeking delay in Avenfield reference

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad high court (IHC) Monday linked the decision regarding suspension of sentences with appeals against the decision of the accountability court in Avenfield properties case.
The two-member bench of the high court headed by Justice Athar Minalllah, earlier reserved the verdict on the applications of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt Retd Safdar for suspension of sentences against them.
However, the court decided that the decision on sentences suspension would be announced after summer vacation when the appeals of the convicts would be taken up for hearing.
