IHC postpones Nawaz Sharif’s bail plea on medical grounds till 4pm

LHC orders federal govt to remove Nawaz Sharif's name from ECL

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Saturday postponed incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s bail petition on medical grounds till 04:00 PM.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani conducted the hearing during which a fresh medical report of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo was submitted.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had moved the IHC for suspension of Nawaz Sharif’s sentence on medical grounds in Al-Azizia reference.
Shehbaz Sharif had requested the court to fix the petition for hearing today. His counsel, Khawaja Haris, had taken the stance in the miscellaneous application that Nawaz Sharif is in critical condition, therefore, a special bench should be constituted to conduct the hearing.
