BRT project, the flagship project of the PTI-led KP government, will be launched today.PM Imran Khan with KP CM Mahmood Khan will inaugurate the project at Chamkani Depot at 3pm. Imran Khan had postponed his visit to Karachi due to the inaugural ceremony of the BRT project in KP.
Furthermore, PM will be accompanied by CM KP Mahmood Khan. He will also be given a briefing on BRT Peshawar. It is also expected that Governor Sindh Imran Ismael will join the inaugural ceremony.
In addition to that, the distribution of travel cards among the citizens for traveling in BRT buses has also started. The KP government has decided to distribute a total of 100,000 travel card.
Prior to this, prime minister was scheduled to cut the ribbon of the BRT project in June 2020, but it was delayed due to the coronavirus. It is also to bear in mind that BRT’s inaugural has been delayed nine times.
In addition to that, “The first 200,000 BRT ZU cards are being distributed free to the public. “Apart from the general public, women and students will benefit the most from BRT who will travel in comfort and safety.”
The provincial minister also visited the BRT central room where the entire BRT would be monitored and security would be reviewed. Provincial Minister said that the BRT would reach Hayatabad from Chamkani in 45 minutes.
