In audio leak Imran Khan seeks US congresswoman help against crackdown on PTI

ISLAMABAD: An alleged audio leak has surfaced on social media featuring former Prime Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, purportedly seeking assistance from US Congresswoman Maxine Moore Waters regarding the ongoing crackdown on his party members and leaders.
The leaked audio, which is approximately 1 minute and 57 seconds long, captures Khan discussing his removal from power and the subsequent crackdown on his party workers.
In the audio, he is heard requesting Congresswoman Waters to raise her voice against the alleged “human rights violations” occurring in Pakistan during what he describes as one of the most critical periods in the country’s history. Khan suggests that the current situation in Pakistan is exceptionally peculiar.
According to Khan’s statements in the leaked conversation, he was targeted in an assassination attempt where he received three bullets. He further asserts that his government was overthrown by the former army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who colluded with the current individuals in power. Khan alleges that the military establishment holds significant influence in Pakistan.
Khan expresses that his party, the PTI, is currently facing the harshest crackdown ever experienced by a democratic party in the history of Pakistan. Seeking support from Congresswoman Waters, he requests her to issue a statement in favor of his party, emphasizing the importance of the rule of law, the constitution, and fundamental rights. Khan believes that Congresswoman Waters’ statement would greatly assist them, as her voice carries significant weight and would create a notable impact.
