UN appeals India, Pakistan to exercise restraint as tensions mount in Kashmir

RAWALPINDI: Three civilians were injured as Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday.
A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident took place near Zafarwal Sector.
It said Pakistan that Pakistan Army gave a befitting reply which killed one Indian soldier and neutralized enemy’s posts.
There are also reports that at least three personnel of Pakistan’s security forces sustained injuries in the firing.
It is worth mentioning here that over 50 Pakistanis were martyred and hundreds wounded in cross border ceasefire violations across Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces in 2017, according to a report.
Indian troops opened fire at LoC in Azad Kashmir at least 1,300 times in 2017 at Neelaum, Nakiyal, Bhimber and Chowkathi sectors.
The aggressive forces martyred at least 52 innocent citizens and 257 were injured.
