Info Minister asks Senate body for guidelines to prevent govt’s interference in PTV

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of Senate Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting chaired by its Chairman Faisal Javed was held in Islamabad on Monday.
Information Minister Barrister Ali Zafar informed the committee that Pakistan Television is giving coverage to all the political parties. He said the PTV has been asked to work independently.
The Information Minister said the committee should frame such guidelines and policies so that any future government cannot interfere in the affairs of the state media.
The chairman of standing committee appreciated the step that all political parties are being given coverage on the PTV.
Secretary Information Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera was also present on the occasion.
