Info minister condoles death of Indian journalist Kuldip Nayar


ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Indian eminent journalist and author Kuldip Nayar and commiserated with the bereaved family.
In a statement Thursday, he said the journalistic services of Kuldip Nayar to promote peace will always be remembered.
Kuldip Nayar passed away on Wednesday night in a hospital in New Delhi. He was 95.
Nayar, who penned 15 books, was appointed as high commissioner of India to the UK in 1990.
He was also nominated as a member of the Upper House of Indian Parliament in 1997 and started his career with an Urdu newspaper.
Nayar was born in Sialkot area of Pakistan’s Punjab on August 14, 1923.
