KARACHI: A day after shocking revelations by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Tariq Mir, the intelligence agencies on Saturday raided a house belonging to a close relative of London Coordination Committee member Mohammed Anwar.
The raid was conducted in Gulistan-e-Johar Block IV, however, no arrest was made. Meanwhile, the intelligence officials took away some important documents from the house.
Earlier, a transcript of Edgware Police Station revealed that MQM leader Tariq Mir had confessed to receiving training and funds from Indian intelligence agency RAW. The documents say Mir "attended voluntarily and was not under arrest."
Mir also revealed that top MQM leadership including Altaf Hussain, senior leaders Imran Farooq and Mohammad Anwar were all aware of this financial aid and the ongoing meetings.
In April 2015, Mohammed Anwar, a member of MQM`s Central Coordination Committee, was arrested at his home in north London on suspicion of money-laundering. He was released after interrogation.
