ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar will leave for the United States of America today.
A special plane has been scheduled to take the interim PM to the US. He will be addressing the United Nations General Assembly session on September 22 (Friday).
The caretaker prime minister will also hold meetings with world leaders during the meeting.
Yesterday, while speaking to American media, the caretaker PM said that the interim setup will assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) with provision of financial resources and security for the elections.
He emphasised that the situation on the border will not impact the elections. He also expressed the confidence that the security threats at the country’s borders will be overcome and the electoral process will be completed.
