Interior Ministry decides to enhance security of key political figures

ISLAMABAD: Following the coward terrorists’ attack killing ANP leader Haroon Bilour among 21 in Peshawar, the Interior Ministry has decided to enhance security for political parties’ heads facing serious security threats.
The federal Interior Secretary chaired a meeting in this regard. The meeting was attended by Provincial Chief Secretaries and Home Secretaries, and inspector generals of police through video conference.
The meeting reviewed proposals for ensuring security of senior political leaders in the wake of threats alerts issued by NACTA.
It discussed threats being faced by political leaders from domestic and foreign elements and exchange of information about it with provincial governments.
The meeting also decided to provide complete security to international observers and the people deputed on the projects being executed under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
