Iran claims to have shot down US drone

TEHRAN: Elite Revolutionary Guards have shot down an American drone in Hormozgan province, Iran’s state news agency said on Thursday.
As per the news agency, the United States’ Military is yet to respond to any of the statements of the Revolutionary Guards.
The Revolutionary Guard called it a “spy” drone. It added that the drone was an RQ-4 Global Hawk.
The incident is likely to spark the already escalating row between Tehran and Washington.
A day earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that his country will not negotiate with the United States under pressure.
In a speech broadcast on the state television, Hassan Rouhani said pulling out of some commitments under the nuclear deal was a “minimum” measure that Tehran could adopt a year after the United States withdrew from the accord and reimposed sanctions on Iran.
