Journey of development to resume with return of Nawaz: Maryam Nawaz

BAGH (AJK): Maryam Nawaz, the Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), expressed on Monday that the journey of development and progress, which was halted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 2017 in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), would resume with the return of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Speaking at a large PML-N rally in Bagh as part of the election campaign for party candidate Mushtaq Minhas, she stated that in the coming days, not only would Muhammad Nawaz Sharif win the elections in AJK, but also in Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that Nawaz Sharif has always pursued the agenda of progress, prosperity, and development for both Pakistan and Kashmir whenever he has held power. In addition to establishing road networks, healthcare and education facilities, and a strong economy, he allocated Rs 100 billion for development projects in AJK during his previous government tenure.
The PML-N leader asserted that the PML-N leadership ensured development in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, with allocated funds being utilized without any corruption. The development initiatives implemented by Nawaz Sharif were visible throughout the region, she added.
Maryam urged the people of Bagh to vote for the PML-N candidate, emphasizing that voting for the PML-N equates to voting for development, progress, and prosperity.
She commended the residents of Bagh for their large presence at the gathering and stated that she is the daughter of Kashmir and shares a blood relation with its people.
Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to the martyrs of the region who sacrificed their lives while protecting every inch of their motherland. She acknowledged the unique stories of martyrdom in every home in Kashmir and highlighted the sacrifices made by their loved ones for the betterment of future generations.
Expressing gratitude, she acknowledged and paid tribute to the armed forces personnel who safeguard the country’s frontiers. She saluted the martyrs of both Pakistan and Kashmir.
Regarding the incidents that occurred on May 9, the PML-N vice president stated that the nation would never forget those who disrespected national monuments, memorials, and security installations. She emphasized that such individuals would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Maryam stated that those who disrespected the martyrs and set fire to symbols of their bravery and courage could no longer be considered Pakistanis. She lamented the destruction of the fighter jets from the 1965 war, which was an attack on the pride of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) achieved by defeating the enemy in the air war.
She expressed that despite differences of opinion, Pakistanis would never imagine burning public and defense installations.
The PML-N leader noted that the May 9 incidents had deeply hurt the sentiments of the martyrs’ families and caused embarrassment both nationally and internationally. She admitted that they could not face the families of the martyrs due to the events of May 9.
Without mentioning any names, Maryam stated that the person responsible for all the destruction on May 9 was also responsible for compromising on the issue of Kashmir. She asserted that the nation would never forgive him and would set him as an example for others.
She claimed that the PTI government was installed in AJK through election rigging and now the PTI is nowhere to be seen in Kashmir.
Maryam mentioned that the party of an individual who claimed to end the politics of Nawaz Sharif and the PML-N is now experiencing its own disintegration and has split into multiple factions.
