Sindh police forms 5-member body to probe Karachi police office attack

KARACHI: The police and other law enforcement agencies have cleared the Karachi police office during nearly a four-hour operation, killing all attackers. At least four people including a sub inspector of the Rangers and a police   official were martyred in exchange of firing with the terrorists.

The terrorist had attacked in the Karachi police chief office main artery of Sharea Faisal. At least 18 people were injured

The attack started at 7:10pm on Friday, while police , Rangers and Pak army personnel cleared the five-storey building in phases, finally sweeping the entire office by around 10:46pm.

The funeral prayer of the rangers official was held, which was attended by chief minister Sindh, corps commander Karachi, DG Rangers, Sindh police chief and other high rank officials and provincial ministers.

Meanwhile, the banned TTP has claimed responsibility for the attack. According to sources two attackers have been identified. One was the resident of Wazirirtan while other belong to Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
