Khattak tenders unconditional apology over derogatory speech

ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak here today (Wednesday) tendered unconditional apology to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over derogatory speech during campaign for the General Elections 2018.
Counsel for Pervez Khattak, Sikandar Bashir Mohmand appeared before the commission on behalf of his client. Khattak submitted his written response with the commission. In his response, Khattak has tendered unconditional apology and regret over his offensive and abusive remarks.
Pervez Khattak in his response stated that he is shameful over what did he uttered in his speech during election rally. While tendering his apology, Khattak also stated that his remarks were unintentional.
ECP have summoned Pervez Khattak over use of foul and abusive language during election campaign.
While addressing a crowd in Nowshera, Khattak used offensive language against supporters of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Footage of the incident began to do the rounds on social media and was subsequently shown by the various news organisations.
