Khursheed Shah rejects Nawaz’s offer for interim setup

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has rejected an offer of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif regarding the formation of interim government.
According to media reports, Khursheed Shah asked as to why he would discuss the matter of interim prime minister with Nawaz Sharif.
Khursheed Shah maintained that it was inappropriate for him to discuss the matter with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
He; however, said that the matter would definitely be taken up with his party leaders.
Khursheed Shah further stated that the procedure of forming interim government was clear and apparent in the Constitution adding that no one was above the rule of law.
He said that those advising judicial martial law would be considered as rebels.
He was referring to the remarks of Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed who had asked Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to impose ‘judicial martial law’ for three months till the forthcoming general elections.
Earlier on Thursday, Sheikh Rasheed explained his remarks that he wanted the CJP to setup the interim government himself.
