Khursheed Shah warns govt against move to replace Shahbaz as PAC chairman

Khurshid Shah

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Leader Khursheed Shah Tuesday warned the government against removal of Mian Shahbaz Sharif as chairman of the PAC and said that the PPP would not let the parliament function.
Reacting to the government’s expected move against the opposition leader, Khusheed Shah said that if a no-confidence motion was moved against Shahbaz, then “we won’t let the parliament function.”
He said that the prime minister was trying to run the assembly like a container. The government was unduly disturbing the National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser as as speaker had no mandate to change any member of the PAC.
If the government did not change its current course then the opposition would also have to undertake such actions, he said, adding that the opposition tried to let the parliament function because of Qureshi and Pervez Khattak.
