PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday strongly condemned the Quetta suicide blast, in which 20 people including eight Hazara community members were martyred.
The provincial assembly session was held with deputy speaker Mehmood Jan in the chair. Taking part in debate on Quetta attack, ANP parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babak strongly condemned the attack and said that the prime minister, president and the federal cabinet should visit Quetta for expressing solidarity with the victim families.
He said that terror incidents in the country have raised questions on the performance of the security agencies in the country. He said that the attack on Hazara community was not a local problem. He said that the government has failed to provide protection to the people. He said that insecurity in the country was on the rise. He held the intelligence agencies responsible for terror attacks in the country. He said that all political parties were united against terrorists.
The JI member Inayatullah Khan said that the government has failed to provide protection to the people. He said that the government should take action against the elements working on foreign agenda against Pakistan. He strongly condemned the Quetta attack. He said that the prime minister should visit Quetta and express solidarity with Hazara community.
PPP’s Nigaht Orakzai also condemned the Qutta attack and called for national unity against the terrorists. She said that Quetta attack was not the first attack on Hazara community.
Provincial law minister Sultan Mohammad also condemned the Quetta attack and said that the security forces were also targeted in the attack. He said that the whole nation was united against terrorism.
Meanwhile, the law minister also presented University Amendment Bill the house. According to the bill Buner and Chitral sub-campus of the university would be given university status. The bill was unanimously passed by the house.
