KP cabinet approves Rs 900b budget for fiscal year 2019-20

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet Tuesday approved budget proposals for fiscal year 2019-20.
The cabinet was chaired by chief Minister Mehmood Khan. The provincial cabinet approved allocation for the tribal districts for the first time as previously the federal government was allocating funds for FATA.
The total outlay of the budget for fiscal year 2019-20 is Rs900 billion, which would be presented in the provincial assembly today.
The provincial government has decreased the salaries of the provincial ministers by 12 per cent. According to a statement issued after the meeting, the 41 per cent more funds than the last year have been allocated development projects.
The chief minister said that the development budget for tribal district was three time more than the last year. Similarly, the development budget for other districts of the provinces was increased by 31 per cent. He said that the public sector would provide 41,687 jobs during 2019-20. He said that Rs17 billion have been allocated for temporary displaced persons.
