PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to provide Sehat Insaf cards to every individual of the province, announced Chief Minister Mehmood Khan.
The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister here at CM house. Chief Minister added that the provision of the Sehat Insaf cards will be made part of upcoming provincial budge of the province.
“The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government believes in providing best facilities of life to the people of the province,” said the chief minister. The Chief Minister added that they are taking practical steps for the welfare of the people.
Giving details of the program, the chief minister added that unlike the past, treatment for the HIV/AIDs and cancer can also be treated under this program. He added during the patients’ stay at the hospital will also be compensated by providing Rs 250 per day.
The Chief Minister furthered those female patients, especially maternity patients, will be provided Rs 1000 as travel cost to the hospital. While those patients who are travel to the province teaching hospitals will be provided Rs2000 as transportation fee. While patients expire in the hospitals will be provided Rs 1000 for funeral expenditure.
Under this program, for the treatment of secondary care diseases, a package of Rs 0.280 million will be provided under which treatments against hundreds of diseases will be available at District Headquarter Hospitals. While a package of Rs 0.4 million will be available for the treatment at Tertiary Care hospitals where treatment against disease like heart diseases, Diabetes, emergency and Trauma can be availed. The project will cost Rs 10188 million while it benefits 4998718 families across the province. The health services can be availed at 86 hospitals which include 27 public and 59 private hospitals.
The PTI government during its previous government in the province has started Sehat Insaf cards program for low-income families.
