KP demands increase in provinces’ share in NFC Award

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has demanded of the federal government to increase the share of the provinces in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and cut in the share of the federal government in the divisible pool.In this connection, an important meeting for evolving consensus among the provinces has also been convened in Islamabad on the 19 of the current month.Members of NFC from other provinces and office bearers will participate in the meeting.The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also demanded of the federal government to ensure the holding of the announcement of NFC Award as soon as possible.The demand was made during a meeting regarding National Finance Commission here with KP Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Said advocate in the chair. Those who attended were included Member NFC KP, Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Special Secretary Finance, Mohammad Idrees and other concerned authorities.The meeting reviewed different matters and proposals of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa relating to early convening of the NFC meeting and briefed the provincial minister regarding the strategy of the provincial government in detailed.
