PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has expedited work on the construction of seven hydel power projects in the province to meet the growing need of energy and water resources.
According to Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization, these projects are being constructed in Mansehra, Shangla, Swat, Lower Dir, Chitral and Kurram districts.
The government has set a target to complete these projects by the end of this year.
It will generate more than four hundred megawatt electricity besides bringing thousands acres of barren land under cultivation in these districts.
