Government finalizes draft of new NAB amendment ordinance

PESHAWAR: The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chaired by Farmanullah Khan, Director General NAB (KP) here took important decisions and authorized inquiry against officials of different departments of the province.
Directors, Deputy Prosecutor General (DPGA), Case Officers, and other concerned Investigation Officers attended the meeting. Several important decisions were taken in the Regional Board Meeting.
According to NAB press release, the Board authorized an inquiry against officials of Prison Department regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled funds allocated for purchase of Uniform, Arms and complimentary items.
The Board authorized an inquiry against officials of Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) Peshawar and others regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subject is alleged to have made illegal appointments of Medical Director, Hospital, Director and Secretary BoG etc at KTH in gross violation of laws.
The Board also authorized inquiry against officials of LG&RDD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regarding corruption and corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have embezzlement millions of rupees funds allocated for installation of Biometric Machines and water coolers in Educational Institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Regional Board authorized inquiry against officials of Agency Surgeon Mohmand Agency regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled millions of rupees funds in employee salaries of Community Health Centers (CHC) in Mohmand Agency.
Beside these, the board converted inquiry into investigation against Chinar Gul Owner of Sheikh Yasin Town, Mardan regarding cheating public at large in the garb of housing scheme at Mardan.
Director General NAB (KP) vowed that as per directions of Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB, NAB KP is determined to do across the board accountability on the basis of solid evidence as per law. He further said that eradication of corruption is not only our social and moral obligation but it also ensures prosperous future of our coming generations.
