LHC moved for launching contempt of court investigation against PM

Khaqan Abbasi accuses NAB of holding media trial of opposition parties

LAHORE: A member of the civil society – Amna Malik has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for holding anti-judiciary speech during his Sialkot visit.
Malik’s lawyer advocate Azhar Siddiq filed a petition in LHC stating that the premier insulted Supreme Court’s (SC) Panama decision in his speech.
The PM Abbasi should have not used words against the apex court as he was head of the state.
She requested the court for launching contempt of court investigation against him.
Earlier, the LHC on the petition of the same plaintiff had issued notices to ex-prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in a case pertaining to anti-judiciary speeches.
