UN/SINDH: The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep sorrow over the death of leading Pakistani lawyers and a UN human rights special rapporteur Asma Jahangir.
In a statement in New York, he said we lost a human rights giant, who was a tireless advocate for inalienable rights of all people and for equality.
Meanwhile, one-day mourning is being observed in Sindh today on directives of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah over Asma Jahangir’s demise.
He also wrote a letter to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to bury Asma Jahangir with state honor and requested the premier to flow the national flag at half mast.
The funeral prayer of widely known human rights activist and renowned lawyer Asma Jahangir will be offered in Qaddafi Stadium Lahore on Tuesday.
