LAHORE: Vice president of the PML-N and daughter of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Tuesday took Prime Minister Imran Khan to task over his silence over North Waziristan incident.
Addressing a Youm-e-Takbeer function in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz asked the prime minister that “why are you silent on Fata incident”. She said that the civilian leadership should come forward in current situation. She said that the leader of the house should respond to the claims of the two MNAs from tribal district in the National Assembly. She questioned the silence of the prime minister over the issue.
She paid rich tributes to Mian Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan a nuclear power, saying that the former prime minister did not fear the sanctions and went for conducting nuclear tests. She, however, regretted that Mian Nawaz Sharif was languishing in Kotlakhpat jail.
She also criticized the PTI government’s economic policies, saying that despite of sanctions after conducting nuclear tests, Mian Nawaz Sharif never begged in the world. However, she added, the ‘incompetent’ prime minister has handed over the country to IMF only for $6 billion.
