ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, Thursday visited the Islamabad Police Line and said that whatever happened on May 9 was extremely tragic and condemnable.
According to the ISPR, on the occasion of Pakistan’s Martyrs’ Day, General Syed Asim Munir addressed the police personnel including officers and relatives of the martyrs of Islamabad Police.
The Army Chief stated that whatever happened on May 9 was extremely tragic and condemnable. The disrespect of the memorials of the martyrs and those who have hurt their dignity will not be forgiven or forgotten by the nation, and such acts will not be tolerated, he said.
The Army Chief said that no one can diminish the sacrifices of the martyrs whom Allah has blessed with eternal life.
He further stated that the Pakistan Army, police, and law enforcement agencies wer symbols of the state and playing a vital role, just like the protective walls, and they will not hesitate to make sacrifices for the dignity of the country and the nation.
The Army Chief said that he wants to convey this message to the heirs of the martyrs that today, the Pakistani people and the Pakistan Army stand united with all the relatives of the martyrs of law enforcement agencies, and they will continue to stand united.
