Medical report rules out leg fracture: Patel

KARACHI: Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel provided detailed information about former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s medical report, which was conducted after his arrest on May 9. Patel emphasized that the report was a public document before sharing its contents.
According to Patel, the medical report did not mention any details about a fracture on Imran Khan’s foot, which Khan had previously claimed was a result of an assassination attempt on November 3. Despite Khan wearing a plaster on his foot for several months, he said, the report did not indicate any evidence of a fracture.
In addition to examining the injury, he said, the report also included the results of Khan’s urine sample. The initial findings revealed the presence of toxic elements and indicated excessive consumption of alcohol and cocaine, he said.
The report also addressed Khan’s mental health, he said, adding that his actions and body language as inconsistent with that of a mentally stable individual. Patel highlighted that the report stated a person with stable mental health would not exhibit such gestures.
Patel expressed his agreement with the report’s assessment, stating that he had previously believed Imran Khan’s mental condition was not well. He criticized Khan for disregarding decency in politics, lacking political tolerance, and showing disrespect towards others.
The health minister emphasized the discrepancy between Khan’s claims and the findings of the medical report. Instead of a fracture, the report indicated the presence of a substance, presumably referring to the consumption of illegal drugs.
Shifting the focus to the events of May 9, Patel remarked that such situations had not been witnessed since 1971. Despite political differences, Patel emphasized that they had stood with the army during challenging times.
Meanwhile, the PTI has announced to take legal action against Qadir Patel .
