ISLAMABAD: The Met Office has predicted rain and thunderstorm across the country from Thursday and Saturday.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department on Wednesday, a westerly weather system is likely to enter upper parts of the country on Thursday evening and likely to persist till Saturday.
Rain wind-thunderstorm (with few hailstorm) with snowfall over the hills is expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Kuram and Kohat from Thursday to Saturday and in Bannu, DI Khan during Thursday(evening) to Friday.
Rain with wind-thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills is expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from Thursday (evening) to Saturday.
Wind-thunderstorm with rain (few hailstorm) is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sahiwal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi-Bahuddin, Gujrat, Sialkot during Friday and Saturday.
Rain with dust raising winds/dust storm may also likely in DG Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar on Friday.
Wind-thunderstorm rain is expected at Quetta, Pashin, Zhob, Chaman, Qila Saifullah and Qila Abdullah on Thursday to Friday (morning).
Dry weather is expected in the province during the period. However dust raising winds are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad and Larkana.
