Moon sighted in Pakistan, first Ramazan on Thursday

Ruet-e-Hilal committee meeting today for Zil Hajj moon sighting

KARACHI: Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneebur Rehman has announced that the moon of the holy month of Ramazan, 1439 Hijri, has been sighted on Wednesday and Thursday would be the first of Ramazan.
The central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s meeting was held in Karachi, while the zonal committees held meetings in all provincial capitals.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Mufti Muneebur Rehman said that the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee received witnesses of moon sighting from different part of the country, therefore, tomorrow would be the first of Ramazan.
He said that the decision was taken unanimously as the moon was sighted in different parts of the country.
