MQM London revokes Farooq Sattar party membership

Farooq Sattar

LONDON: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s London Secretariat has announced to revoke basic membership of MQM Pakistan chapter leader Dr. Farooq Sattar.
The decision to oust Farooq Sattar came two weeks after MQM-Pakistan expelled London chapter’s senior leader Nadeem Nusrat and other leaders of the party following an internal crisis that arose from MQM founder’s anti-Pakistan speech and Farooq Sattar was appointed as convenor of the MQM.
“Farooq Sattar is being expelled for his repeated acts of treason. Farooq Sattar is no more MQM’s parliamentary leader, and as a parliamentarian, he has no right to impose decisions on the masses,” MQM London chapter leaders said in a statement on Sunday.
“MQM’s elected convenor is no one but Nadeem Nusrat. The workers must follow and believe in his every statement,” the statement issued by Mustafa Aziz Abadi, Qasim Ali Raza, Wasey Jalil and Muhammad Ashfaq said.
MQM London leaders urged the MNAs and MPAs of the party to quit their seats in order to protest decisions ‘being taken against the party policy’.
“People will observe social boycott of those party lawmakers who will refuse to quit the assemblies,” MQM statement said.
