NAB summons Pakistan’s ambassador to US in corruption case

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States (US) Ali Jahangir Siddiqui on March 22.
The envoy was called to NAB’s Lahore office under section 19 of NAB Ordinance for his alleged involvement in a corruption scandal worth Rs.40 billion.
NAB has also obtained the report of Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in this regard.
It is to be mentioned here that Ali Jahangir Siddiqui is business partner and Special Adviser of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and was recently appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to the US.
