NAB’s court proceedings against Dar postponed till January 2, 2018

NAB court adjourns hearing reference against Dar till Feb 6
Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court on Thursday has adjourned hearing of the assets reference against former finance minister Ishaq Dar till January 2, 2018.
Accountability court judge Justice Muhammad Bashir adjourned the case hearing today after National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor informed him of the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) stay order barring the accountability court from further proceedings against Dar.
Justice Bashir asked the NAB prosecutor for a copy of the IHC stay order, to which the prosecutor replied that the team had requested the IHC to provide a copy of the stay order.
The IHC, after hearing Dar’s petitions on Wednesday against the accountability court’s order declaring him a proclaimed offender and issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants for him, barred the accountability court from proceedings against the former finance minister till January 17, 2018.
Let it be known that NAB has filed a reference against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former finance minister regarding his assets disproportionate to his known sources of income in the accountability court.
