Naqeebullah murder case: SC orders Sindh police chief to submit report

KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (CJP), Justice Saqib Nisar on Friday directed Sindh police chief to submit progress report to the court regarding the arrest of former police officer Rao Anwar in Naqeebullah Mahsood murder case.
The CJP resumed hearing of the high profile case in Karachi, where Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh AD Khawaja appeared and requested the court for more time to nab the police officer.
AD Khawaja informed the court that substantial progress would be made in the case during the next two to three days as CCTV footages from Islamabad and Karachi airports regarding the escape attempt of Rao Anwar have been obtained.
The court had also summoned officials of Airports Security Force; however, no one appeared in the court.
The case was then adjourned until Monday which will be held in Islamabad.
Naqeebullah Mahsood, a 27-year-old native of Waziristan was extra-judicially killed during an fake encounter on January 13 on the orders of Malir SSP Rao Anwar.
