Nation to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on Sunday

ISLAMABAD: The nation observes Kashmir solidarity day tomorrow with a pledge to seek a solution to Kashmir dispute according to UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The day will dawn with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, victory of the freedom struggle and expression of solidarity with the Kashmiri people, followed by mass rallies, symposia, walks for peace, conventions and meeting in order to draw world attention towards the plight of oppressed Kashmiri people.
Nationwide one minute silence will be observed at 1000 hours in the morning to honor Kashmiri martyrs.
In Islamabad, members of the Kashmir Committee of the National Assembly will visit the office of the United Nations to present a memorandum calling on India to grant Kashmiris the right to self determination.
People of Azad Jammu and Kashmir will also observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on Sunday with a renewed pledge to seek a solution of longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The day will dawn with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, victory of the freedom movement and extending solidarity to the Kashmiri people.
Human Chains will be formed at Kohala, BararKot and other points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
In Muzaffarabad, the main event of the day will be the joint session of AJK Legislative Assembly and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council.
Later, Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan will lead a public rally which will be taken out from Chatter area in the afternoon.
Public rallies, walks, seminars meeting in order to draw world attention towards the plight of oppressed Kashmiri people will be held.
Azad Kashmir Radio Muzaffarabad has arranged daylong programs featuring different dimensions of the Kashmir freedom struggle.
Like other parts of the country, Kashmir Solidarity Day will also be observed in Balochistan on Sunday to express solidarity with Kashmri people in their just struggle for right to self determination as per UN resolutions.
Different religious and political organizations have chalked out various programs to mark the day.
In connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, a walk will be taken out in Peshawar on Sunday.
Similarly a photographic exhibition depicting Indian atrocities has been arranged to mark the day.
Functions will also be held in other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
In Sindh, Kashmir Solidarity Day will also be observed on Sunday.
