National Economic Council approves Annual Development Program of Rs 1324 billion

ISLAMABAD: In the annual meeting of the National Economic Council chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the annual development program of volume Rs 1324 billion was approved.
A meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the meeting, the annual development program was also discussed after which the volume of the program was approved.
The volume of annual development program has been approved at Rs. 1324 billion. With an additional Rs 100 billion, a total of Rs 650 billion have been sanctioned for the Federal Development Program.
The volume of development budget of the provinces has been kept at Rs 674 billion, and special anti-coronavirus projects of Rs 70 billion have been approved.
A development budget of Rs 364 billion has been approved for infrastructure, Rs 80 billion for energy, Rs 70 billion for water and Rs 179 billion for transport and communication.
Development projects worth Rs 249 billion have been approved for social sector, Rs 20 billion for health and population welfare, Rs 35 billion for higher education and Rs 24 billion for sustainable development have been approved.
Rs 40 billion has been approved for Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while Rs 48 billion has been approved for the tribal areas integrated with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rs 20 billion has been approved for science and technology, Rs 14 billion for agriculture including locust control and Rs 3 billion for ERA.
