Nawaz not happy with govt’s failure in handling Faizabad sit-in

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday held meeting with party leaders and workers at Punjab House here and discussed the present political situation in country.
According to party sources, he exchanged views with the party leaders about the legislation in Parliament and the sit-in in Islamabad that ended here Monday evening.
According to reports, minister Nawaz Sharif expressed displeasure at the government’s ‘failure’ in handling the weeks-long Faizabad sit-in and the ensuing operation, which resulted in 200 injuries in Islamabad and prompted countrywide protests.
Talking to party workers, Nawaz said that the elected prime ministers are removed, hanged, arrested or exiled. “Nowhere else does this happen,” he said.
Moreover, the PML-N president vowed to work with other political parties and workers to safeguard democracy.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the situation arising following the resignation of Federal Law Minister Zahid Hamid and deliberated over the measures to be taken next.
